American T7-T10 Spinal Cord Injury Patient Undergoes Epidural Stimulation in Bangkok
Jeffrey Guest, a 29-year-old Spinal Cord Injury patient from the United States encountered a life-changing accident 8 years ago when he was on his way to pick his friend up. The front left tire of his car blew up and even though Jeffrey did his best to pull the car on the side of the road, it hit a ditch and the car flipped. This accident left Jeffrey with a T7-T10 Spinal Cord Injury and half of his body was paralysed.
However, Jeffrey did not give up and stayed determined to get his life back. He started out by creating his Facebook page to tell his story, and with the help of his loving friends, he was able to arrange a successful Fundraising Campaign to receive the Epidural Stimulation Procedure with Unique Access Medical.
He then flew to Bangkok to undergo the Epidural Stimulation Surgery. After his surgery, he felt optimistic. Given the fact that Jeffrey is the type of person that will do his best in conquering every obstacle, he believes that he will be able to stand up with the help of the Epidural Stimulator and eventually stand up on his own again.
“When times get rough, people still make something positive out of it.”
Following the surgery, Jeffrey started to undergo extensive sessions of Training and Rehabilitation. According to Jeffrey, Physical Therapy is quite tough, but it is making him feel good. He is particularly impressed with all the therapists because they have helped push him to his limits. To him, this is the best place in the world for such therapies.
The first signs of improvement Jeffrey could experience was when he could move his ankles again after many years. That has encouraged him to be even more optimistic going forward.
Jeffrey’s biggest inspiration for coming to Bangkok to receive the Epidural Stimulation Procedure is his son. Seeing his son smile with joy on his face motivates him to move forward. According to Jeffrey, this breakthrough Epidural Stimulation Procedure has given him a chance to stand up and not let a wheelchair be the person that gets him around. He wants to do that by himself and he appreciates every support he has gained from the bottom of his heart.
“Thank you. I’m really grateful and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart for giving a chance to fight back…actually stand up, and never give up.”
